Colombo House TW11

London 2009

The property had been used to provide residential facilities for children and subsequently for students. In 2009 we carried out an extensive refurbishment and extension of the property for our client who is a care provider to provide accommodation for people with learning disabilities; residential care facilities on the ground floor and self-contained flats for supported living on the upper floors. A simple palette of traditional materials was used to ensure continuity between the existing Victorian building and the wrap around extension. The landscaping was designed to provide level access to all parts of the building and the fabric of the building has been upgraded for energy efficiency, with modern services installed to ensure a cost effective future for the building and comfort for the residents.
