Lampard Grove N16

London 2014

This contemporary three bedroom town house, built on the site of an existing single storey garage, is a clever insertion that sits well in its urban setting between a terrace of Victorian houses and a rear garden. A carefully selected palette of traditional materials expresses the three interlocking forms, which accommodate the living spaces, service elements and circulation areas respectively. Viewed from different external perspectives, the volumes and forms of the building transform to create interesting compositions and the successful interplay of the living spaces and external landscaped areas helps to give the impression of a larger house which has been achieved on a very tight site.
